News of drone deployment on India's border is fake: Chief Adviser's press wing

Bangladesh has deployed drones in the border areas near West Bengal, India, according to claims made by media outlets in the country. However, this claim has been completely denied as false and fabricated by the press wing of the Prime Minister's Office.

On Saturday (December 7), a post was made on the verified Facebook page of the Prime Minister's press wing regarding this matter.

The post stated, "The news of drones being deployed on the border is false and fabricated. Bangladesh has not deployed any drones in any part of the country beyond its routine activities. This is part of a planned propaganda against Bangladesh."

Earlier, the Indian news outlet India Today claimed that Bangladesh had deployed Turkish-made 'Bayraktar TB2' drones along the West Bengal border.

The report suggested that this move was made due to increasing tensions with India. These drones are used for surveillance and precise strikes.

The report also mentioned that the deployment of drones near India's 'Chicken Neck' area is particularly concerning for India. As a result, India has increased surveillance along the Bangladesh border.

According to information from India's Defence Research and Development Organization (IDRDO), Bangladesh acquired six drones from Turkey earlier this year. This information was sourced from Defence Technology.
