A discrepancy of BDT 8.24 million has been found in the vault of BRAC Bank’s private branch in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
The Bangladesh Bank has already instructed legal action against those involved. It has been reported that some of the money has been recovered, and legal measures have been taken against the responsible officials.
On December 22, Bangladesh Bank conducted an inspection of BRAC Bank's Chakaria branch in Cox's Bazar. During the inspection, a difference of BDT 8.24 million was discovered between the cash balance recorded on December 19 and the actual cash present in the vault. The inspection team has classified this as a serious irregularity.
